Elizabeth "Liz" Ann Phillips Walker passed away on Wednesday morning, September 28, 2016, at her home in Baton Rouge. She was born May 12, 1931 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was raised in Little Rock and attended Little Rock Sr. High School, where she met the love of her life, John Walker. She and Johnny were married on November 27, 1951. Liz loved the Lord with all her heart and she loved her home and her family and thanked God for them always. She also loved her church, Istrouma Baptist – what a blessing! She loved her many friends and could not do without their love and prayer. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John A. Walker; her sister, Dorothy Lee; and her two brothers, John and Blake. She is survived by her two precious children and their spouses: Karen Walker Pierson and husband Jim, and Kelly Scott Walker and wife Julie. Special thanks are expressed to Dr. Mike Rolfsen and to the staff at Bridgeway Hospice. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016, at Istrouma Baptist Church, 10500 Sam Rushing Dr., Baton Rouge, La. 70816, at 11 a.m. with visitation for 1 hour prior to service. A reception will follow the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to Istrouma Baptist Church, designated for Missions.
