Jack T. Lloyd

Jack T. Lloyd, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016, a cancer survivor for twelve years. He was born January 22, 1946 in Hope, Ark., the son of William Steve and Udell Samuel Lloyd, both deceased. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Ann, and one brother, Don Lloyd. He is survived by one son, Patrick B. (Robin) Lloyd of Merkel, Texas, one daughter, Leah M. (Billy Paul) Chaves of Arkadelphia, two grandsons, Bronson W. and Baron G. of Merkel, Texas, one brother, Jim (Cherry) Lloyd of Texarkana, Texas, his lifelong friend since age five, Jim Walker of Morilton, his nephew/son/close friend and executor of his estate, Steven W. Lloyd of Plano, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was a Christian and a member of Park Hill Baptist Church. He retired at age of 45 as district manager of Southwestern Bell in Austin, Texas. Jack proudly served with the 82nd Airborne Division during the Vietnam era, achieving the rank of Sergeant. For your comfort during the services, Jack requested casual dress stating, "I don't like neckties or people who do". Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Welch Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Runyan officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-12 noon at the funeral home. Pallbearers are James Austin Lloyd, Austin Wayne Lloyd, Craig Lloyd, Chris Lloyd, Steve Lloyd. Honorary pallbearers are Stan Tucker, James R. King, John K. Simmons, Jim Walker, Dennis Pape, Ronny Stephenson, Brandon Lloyd, Jim Cowan and Hunter Lloyd. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Park Hill Baptist Church, 3333 Hollywood Rd, Arkadelphia, Ark. 71923. Final arrangements are entrusted to The Welch Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.
