Melbourne Horace Miller, age 93, died October 8, 2016. He was born October 3, 1923, to Horace Melbourne and Minnie Marie Le Marie Miller. He attended Catholic High School. He proudly joined the Coast Guard during World War II where he served as a Coxswain. He received the Bronze Star and Victory Medals. He worked for the Arkansas Gazette and retired after 42 years. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Agnes Jeanne Massery Miller, his parents, his step-father, Joseph Nahlen, and by his sister, Flodine Weiss. He is survived by his daughter, Karen Johns and her husband, Tom, a son, Larry Miller and his wife, Sandy, grandchildren, Melissa Scott and her husband Dave and Ashley Johnson and her husband Brad. Other survivors include his great-grandchildren, Madeline and Violette Scott, Bryce and Elliott Johnson. Also included are special members of his family, Richard Massery, Bob Massery, Sister Angeline Massery, Mary Ann Massery, Jim Owry, Mike Owry, Debbie Barron, Jeanne Metzger and many more nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 West 12th Street, Little Rock. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 13, at 9:30 a.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
