Earl James "Jim" LaVigne, 87, of North Little Rock passed away October 9, 2016. He was born January 23, 1929 in Marionette, Wisconsin to Alex and Dorothy LaVigne. He served in the United States Air Force during the Occupation of Japan following World War II. During his early years, he owned Earl's ESSO Service Station. He later worked in Alcohol Sales & Distribution as a sales representative, manager, and eventually, owned and operated his own store. His hobbies included camping, reading, and baking cookies for the grandkids. Jim is survived by his wife, Sarah Beaty LaVigne; four daughters, Patti D'Angelo, Debbie Edington, Nicole Vaden, and Michelle LaVigne; two step-sons, Hal and Charles Harger; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His son, Neil LaVigne, predeceased him. Memorials may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, P.O. Box 15728, Little Rock, Ark. 72231. Memorial service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 13 at North Pulaski Baptist Association building, 4500 North Hills Blvd., North Little Rock.
