Bennie Walter Bennett, 66, went to be with the Lord on October 10, 2016, with his family by his side. Bennie was born on October 19, 1949 to the late Bennie and Bertie Bennett in LR, Ark. He graduated from Central High School and was a business owner for over 25 years. His businesses included a dairy bar, auto dealership, and a pawn shop. In his later years, he worked in pest control until he retired. He married his best friend, Fran Bennett, on December 31, 1968. They celebrated 48 magical years of happiness and together with love, devotion and sacrifice they raised three wonderful children. He was a member of Lifeline Baptist church and knew the Lord as his personal savior! Bennie was a great man who had such a caring heart. He provided the best he could for his family and always did without to give them whatever they needed. He was a gift to anyone who met him, would do anything for you and you loved him the minute he said "Hi." Bennie loved his family dearly and spending time with them is what he treasured the most. Whether it was family dinner nights, basketball in the pool with the grandkids, or game day watch parties did not matter as long as we were all together. His most loved activity was riding motorcycles with his two favorite people. He never missed the opportunity to hit the open road with his boys and cherished the time he would spend with them. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Bennie and Bertie Bennett; his father and mother-in-law, Robert and Gene Murph and his loving dog Rocky. He is survived by his wife, Fran Bennett; three children, Shelly Bennett Jernigan and husband Shawn Jernigan; Bennie Jason Bennett and wife Staci Bennett; and Brandy Bennett Dunlap; daughter, Heather Smith, son-in-law, BJ; eight grandchildren, Erik Jernigan, Morgan Jernigan, Brandon Dunlap, Katelyn Bennett and Ethan Bennett, Harrison Smith, Brett Smith and Haley Smith; two sisters, Brenda Childers and Barbara Jenkins and a host of many, other friends and family who loved him dearly. Services will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Lifeline Baptist Church in Little Rock with visitation beginning at noon and services beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander. Honoring Bennie's wishes, the service attire will be casual. Bennie was such a special man who meant the world to our family! His passing was unexpected and our hearts are heavy. We are forever grateful for the staff of UAMS Medical Center/ICU 4E/Pastoral Care for the wonderful and compassionate care they provided to Bennie and our entire family. We know that we will see him again but until then we will carry his memory, love, and laughter close in our hearts. Online guestbook: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/drummond.
