Wilma Jean Sproul Van Pelt

WILMA JEAN SPROUL VAN PELT of Little Rock, seamstress, baker and homemaker went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016. She was born Aug. 30, 1929, the daughter of Herbert and Mildred Sproul. Jean worked at Kellwood for 30 years. She also worked at Pleasant Valley Country Club for 16 years. She did catering, cake decorating and alterations out of her home. She took care of her own yard with numerous flower beds and decorations at Christmas with many lights and enjoyed making Christmas centerpieces. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Dorsie Van Pelt; father, Herbert Sproul; mother, Mildred Sproul; and brother, Gary Sproul. She is survived by her sister, Lyvone Sproul Smith of Beebe, Ark.; daughter, Phyllis Ann Wehmer; son, David Ray Van Pelt both of Little Rock; two grandsons, Jason Van Pelt of Maumelle and Sean Van Pelt of Little Rock and a very special longtime friend, Wesley Perry of Mabelvale; and many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Wesley was special in many ways to Jean and did many repairs at her home and even built fences and helped her by paying her bills on the internet. They went out to eat, traveled to Branson, Mo. together. Wesley would take Jean to see her sister in Beebe, Ark. and went to the cemetery to place flowers on the graves of the other family who had passed. They would also go to eat Catfish in Searcy, Ark.. Jean always met any adversity with grace and calm with Wesley there to help her along the way. Sunrise or Sunset Jean bets she will see all of you in Heaven. Farewell Friends. Visitation will be at Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home on Tuesday, 6-8 p.m., Oct. 18, with a memorial service being held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
