Laura "Lala" Kaye Strope, age 57, of Greenbrier, (April 15, 1959-October 13, 2016) was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Lala made it her life's mission to make things better for every person and dog that crossed her path. She was filled with compassion and a desire to help others. She was able to further reach more in need when she proudly graduated from University of Central Arkansas in 1996. Throughout her career, she served the public as a State Police dispatcher, Social Worker, and established the local branch of CASA. In addition to her career, Lala was always giving her time, energy, and wholehearted efforts to local charities and shelters, and she had a passion for rescuing dogs. Of all her accomplishments, Lala's greatest achievements have been in the lives of her family, friends and fur babies. She had a unique gift to recognize and appreciate the talents in others and to make them feel loved and lifted by her presence. Her creative mind, kind heart and brilliant smile allowed her to touch the lives of everyone around her. Her generous heart filled her home with love, fun, family and friends, including an attitude that there was always room for one more. In her free time Lala loved to be outdoors She was an avid outdoors woman with an adventurous spirit. She had a deep love for camping, fishing, floating and went as often as she could. Always bringing with her that infectious smile, her unending adventurous spirit, and her Uncle Elmer suitcase. Laura Kaye Strope is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Betty Brannon; brother, Paul Brannon. She is survived by her husband and the love of her life, Michael Strope; daughter, Stacey (Shane) Brown; granddaughter, Taylor Brown; sister, Karen Morrell; brother, Mike (Nancy) Brannon; brother, Richard (Randi) Brannon; brother, James Brannon; brother, Joe (Tanya) Brannon; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lala's life will be celebrated on Friday, October 21, 2016. Visitation will be at 12pm and service to immediately follow at 1 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral home in Greenbrier, Arkansas.
