Mary Shandy Wooten, 93, of White Hall, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2016. She was born October 5, 1923 in Dumas, daughter of Bain Shandy and Emma Eddington Shandy. Mrs. Wooten was reared at Dumas and San Antonio, Texas before moving to White Hall at age 14. There she met Ray Wooten and they were married December 13, 1941. They were married for sixty-seven years, until his death in 2009. She was a talented artist and craftsman always busy with projects. She devoted her life to her husband, her children and her church. She was a long time member of Dollarway Presbyterian Church, where she served faithfully as Sunday school and Bible school teacher. She was presently a member of Central Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Wooten was predeceased by her parents, her husband; and three brothers, Bain Shandy, G.A. Shandy, and Eddie Shandy. Survivors include her children, Mary Rester and husband Billy of Pine Bluff; her son, Cecil (Tommy) Wooten and wife Shirley of White Hall; sister, Hester Insley of East End; brother, Kelly Shandy of West Monroe, Louisiana; grandchildren, Marie D. Elliot (Bobby) of Pine Bluff, Tim Rester (Lori) of Haskell, Melissa Rester of Pine Bluff, Michelle Mangialardi (David) of Madison, Mississippi, Clay Wooten (Tina) of Bentonville and Jeana Garrett (Chris) of Miramar Beach, Florida; 15 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 19, 2016, 5-7 p.m. at Robinson's. Services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, October 20, 2016, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend David King and Reverend Jai Kwak officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
