Danny Rex Martin, 58, of Siloam Springs, Ark. passed away Monday, October 17, 2016 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Danny was born on September 4, 1958 in Washington D.C., a son of Kenneth Rex Martin and Evelyn Joyce Hevrin Martin. Danny was a graduate Lake Hamilton High School, Class of 1977; he then attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello where he played college football. He attended the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service and worked in the funeral industry for several years in Texas and Arkansas. He then found his true passion, driving trucks and drove for several companies including Wiltrans, Oakley, Daily Direct and lastly for Larry Williams Trucking. Danny was a member of the Baptist denomination, loved sports, was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan, and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Above all Danny was dedicated to his family and enjoyed spending as much time with them as he could. He is survived by two brothers, Jerry Martin and wife Karen of Coleman, Texas, and Don Martin and wife Kathleen of Siloam Springs; five sisters, Tamara Martin of Sweetwater, Texas, Pam and husband Bruce Ridling of Borger, Texas, Michelle and husband Wally Catlin of Seattle, Wash., Karman Straubing and Ken Maxwell of Leola, Penn., and Lori and husband John Richardson of Las Vegas, Nev.; along with a host of nephews, nieces and friends. Visitation will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home, Friday, Oct. 21, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel on Saturday, Oct. 22 2016 at 2 p.m. Pastors John Richardson and Bruce Ridling will officiate the services, with burial being held at the Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
