Evelyn McBroom Knight

Evelyn McBroom Knight, 85, of Pine Bluff, died Friday, Oct. 21, 2016. She was born June 15, 1931 in Conway County, daughter of John Wesley Emmons and Effie Richardson Emmons. Mrs. Knight was reared at Ada Valley and Watson, Ark. before moving to Dumas. She married William Dean Knight in May 21, 1976 in Jefferson County. Mr. Knight preceded her in death in 2013. Mrs. Knight worked at the Pine Bluff Motel and for the City of Pine Bluff as Sexton of the Cemetery Department, retiring in 1999. She was a member of Hazel Street Church of Christ. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, E.A. McBroom; and sisters, Pauline Wallace, Dorothy Davis and Mary Ruth Sybert. Survivors include her children, E.A. McBroom, Jr. of Star City; her daughter, Mary L. Patterson of North Little Rock and Evelyn M. Creacy of Pine Bluff; brother, John Emmons of Hot Springs Village; grandchild, Paige Carman; and three great-grandsons, Tyler, Jeremy and Conner Carman. Visitation will be Tuesday morning beginning at 9 a.m. at Ralph Robinson & Son. Services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Dub Byers officiating.
