Ruby Alene Walden Jones, 91, of Cabot, passed away from this life on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016. She was born April 13, 1925 in Walker, Ark., to the late Shirley and Nell Woods Walden. Ruby loved her family, her caregivers, and her friends dearly. Her pride and joy was raising her two daughters, Sheila and Teresa, and her grandchildren, Shanna and Matthew, whom she adored. She and her late husband, Van Jones, loved to fish and garden. She worked at the War Plant in Jacksonville, and at the Shoe Factory in Searcy, when she wasn't travelling abroad with her military husband. She spent her last few years in and out of Cabot Health and Rehab, and Southridge Village, where she enjoyed making everyone laugh. Ruby loved jewelry, fashion, arguing with her son in law, Bill (who kept her amused), and living life to the fullest. She was given the nickname "9 Lives" by her cardiologist, Dr. Rod Parkhurst, for her love of life. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Van; and all of her siblings, Edwin Walden (Sada), Shirley Walden (Jackie), James Walden (Dorothy), Ashley Walden (Faye), and Euna Bea Carroll (Marion). She is survived by her two daughters, Sheila Ann McCaskill (Ross) of Little Rock and Teresa Kay Peckat (Bill) of Cabot; two grandchildren, Shanna Altermann (Richard) of Scottsdale, Ariz, and William Matthew Peckat of Little Rock; and one great-grandchild, William Altermann of Scottsdale, Ariz. Private graveside service will be Monday, Oct. 24, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot. Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home.
