VIRGINIA MOORE EFFLAND, (formerly Virginia Moore Anders), passed away on Oct. 14, 2016 in Little Rock, Ark. She was born in Eudora, Ark. and just prior to World War II boarded a train that would change her life. She went to work in Washington, DC. Her boss was to introduce her to her husband, Richard W. Effland, (Dick). From Washington, DC, Virginia and Dick moved to Madison, Wis. where he taught Law. Later, they moved to Tempe, Ariz. where Arizona State University was starting a new law school. She returned to Little Rock in 1989 to be with family after her husband passed away. She lived at Parkway Village with her sisters. Virginia was active in churches and in university faculty wives' groups. She was dedicated, loving mother to her sons (Richard and Frank). Her love was the "cabin" in Flagstaff where she could escape the heat of the desert. She loved to travel first as the wife of a distinguished law professor and then with her sisters. She is survived by her two sons and their significant others and Corrine Gilbreath, a niece, who was the daughter she never had. There will not be a service but a family reunion for her family to celebrate a generation that left a high mark for so many. There is so much that is given in simple ways to those who age. Immanuel Baptist Church's tele-bible class is one such agent. We ask anyone who wants to remember Virginia to donate to the IBC Tele-Bible class in memory of Virginia Effland (memo line of check). Send checks to: Finance Office, Immanuel Baptist Church, 501 N. Shackleford Rd. Little Rock Ark. 72211. We believe this will bring great joy to others in need of a connection of Christ in their lives. Arrangements in care of Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark., 72211. 501-224-8300.
