Steve Caldwell, 62 of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away peacefully at home after succumbing to cancer on Sunday, October 23, 2016. Steve was born in Mena, Arkansas, to Calvin and Dora Ella Reed Caldwell on July 20, 1954. He had a deep love for his family and friends and could often be found indulging in many of his hobbies and past times. Steve loved camping and enjoying the outdoors. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in horticulture and had a passion for gardening. He loved woodworking, cooking, and was known by all to be a jokester and collector extraordinaire. Among these hobbies was a love for animals and he held a special place in his heart for his dogs Pippa, Biggs, and Sable. Steve was proud to serve his country in the Navy as well as the Navy Reserves. He is survived by his loving wife, Leigh; his brothers, Justin Caldwell of New York City, and John Caldwell and wife Sharon of Hope; his sister, Kay Broyles and husband Mark of Little Rock; his nephew, John Caldwell Jr., and wife Claire of Hope; his niece, Candie West and husband Matt of Hope; and a very special adopted family member, Joy Williams of Fayetteville. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016, at 3:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 224 N East Ave, Fayetteville, Ark. 72701.
