Lillian Murlene Barrett Degges, age 84, of Warren, Ark., died Wednesday, October 26, at Katherine's Place in Fayetteville, Ark. Born November 13, 1931, in Star City, Ark., a daughter of the late Joseph Russell Barrett and Ruby Irene Bush Barrett she was a retired school teacher at Eastside Elementary in Warren, Ark. Murlene was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and the widow of Leslie Edward Degges who died February 13, 2004. They were united in marriage July 23, 1955. Also preceding her in death was a brother, Charles Wayne Barrett and a sister, Mary Eloise Barrett. Survivors are one son, Dr. Russell Degges and spouse Rita of Jonesboro, Ark.; one daughter, Cheryl Rose and spouse David of Farmington, Ark.; two brothers Herbert Lee Barrett of Warren, Ark., and Leon Ray Barrett of Sunnyvale, Calif.; one sister, Eula Lucille Richardson of Fayetteville, Ark.; three grandchildren, Amber Squire and spouse Sean of Prairie Grove, Ark., Matthew Degges of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mark Degges and spouse Amanda of Tulsa, Okla.; three great-grandchildren Brielle Squire, Ellasyn Squire, and Toby Squire. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 29, at Frazer's Chapel. Burial in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home.
