Charles Edward "Streak" Harris, 88, of Benton, passed away October 26, 2016. He was born February 7, 1928 in the Vincent Chapel Community near Hattieville, Arkansas. The son of Ivan and Pearly Feller Harris, Charles graduated from Wonderview High School in 1949. He served in the United States Army in the Korean War from 1950 until 1952. Charles retired from Alcoa after 31 years and Harris Wrecker after 15 years. Charles married Emogene Tilley on March 25, 1954. He was a member of Vincent Chapel Presbyterian Church and attended Salem Baptist Church. "Streak" enjoyed Basketball in High School and coached youth baseball at the Salem Ball Park. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emogene "Jean" Harris, his parents, six brothers and five sisters. Charles is survived by sons, Steve (Denese) Harris, Jacky Harris and Bruce Harris all of Benton, daughter, Vicki (Jeff) Steele of Benton, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Chapel services at Ashby Funeral Home will be 1 p.m. Saturday with burial to follow at Pine Crest Cemetery.
