Rita Sherlene Harris

Rita Sherlene Hendricks Harris, 69 of Benton, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Saline Memorial Hospice in Bryant, Arkansas. Rita was born on July 25, 1947 in Little Rock to Sherl and Betty Hendricks. She was a member of the last graduating class of Mabelvale High School in 1965. Mrs. Harris was retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Ira Flynn Harris, her brother, Michael Glenn Hendricks, grandparents, Jack and Elizabeth Hendricks and Orville "Alex" and Beatrice Alexander and nephew, Patrick Bean. Rita is survived by her parents, Sherl and Betty Hendricks, brother, Don Hendricks, son, Jason Harris and daughter, Mandi Harris Wertenberger and husband, Chris, grandchildren, Justin Harris, Logan Harris, Katherine Wertenberger, sisters-in-law, Linda Hendricks, Sherry Harris and Shelia Gaiser. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed traveling, singing, caring for her pets, and cheering on her beloved Razorbacks. Most of all, she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Church services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 10 a.m. Monday at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
