Harold Burnett Duncan, 73, of Helena-West Helena, Ark. was born July 17, 1943. Harold was proud graduate of Eliza Miller High School Class of 1960. He was the youngest graduate in his class at age 16. He then enrolled at Philander Smith College and graduated in 1964. He earned a Master's Degree from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. Harold worked for the Elaine School District for 40 years. He served in various roles as Junior High History Teacher, Junior High Principal, Elementary School Principal, and Elaine School District Superintendent. Harold retired from the Elaine School District in 2004. Harold departed this life on Sunday, September 4, 2016. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Gloria Duncan; son, Alvin Duncan, daughter, Angela Duncan, two granddaughters, Assata Conway and Anaya Dunca, sister-in-law, Mary Duncan, brother-in-law, Walter Stubblefield, a God daughter, Leester (Melvin) Gage; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2016 at New Light Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be Friday, September 9, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. at Brown's Home for Funerals.The body will lie in state on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 12-1 p.m. at New Light M.B. Church.
