Jesse Lawson Hughes

Mr. Jesse Lawson Hughes age 85 of Haynes, Arkansas died Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Methodist Hospital in Memphis. Mr. Hughes was born October 19, 1930 in Haynes. He was the son of Heber and Louise Hughes Sr. Mr. Hughes was a member of the Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church, a farmer and a regular at the Burger King Coffee Meeting. Mr. Hughes married Ann Lancaster in 1949 and she preceded him in death in 1993. He is survived by a daughter, Sallie Hughes of Memphis; a son, Jim Hughes and wife Joye of Forrest City, a daughter-in-law, Susan Hughes of Forrest City and close companion, Julie Gross of Forrest City. Four grandchildren also survive him, Patton Hughes, Lance Hughes, Sarah Hughes and Katie Hughes. He was preceded in death by a son, Jay Hughes in 2014. A visitation will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 4 to 6 at Stevens Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to St. Jude, Wounded Warriors or to ones choice.
