Betty Jean Shirron

Betty Jean Lea Shirron, age 86, of Manteca, Calif., formerly of Manning, Ark., passed away Sept. 6, 2016. She was born Jan. 10, 1930, to the late Edward Joshua and Liller Kate Garner Lea. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, William B. Shirron, infant twins, six brothers, Lester, Rayburn, O. D., Doyle, Garland, and Calvin, and two sisters, Emma Deaton and Mattie Shirron. Betty is survived by two sons, Bennie Carroll (Sherry) Shirron of Modesto, California, and Dennis (Cheryl) Shirron, of Union City, Calif., seven grandchildren, 15 & 8/9 great-grandchildren, one sister, Mary Doris Lea (Bill) Robbins of Arkadelphia, sisters-in-law Deane Lea of Arkadelphia, Edna Bane of Benton, Dorothy Denton of Sparkman, Frances Grissom of Camden, and numerous nephews and nieces. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Sparkman First Baptist Church. Interment will be in Sparkman Cemetery, with visitation to follow at the Methodist Fellowship Hall.
