James Paul Roberson

James Paul Roberson, age 92, of Arkadelphia died Friday, Sept. 9, 2016. He was born Sept. 8, 1924 in Okolona, Ark. the son of Jesse and Eula Tarpley Roberson, He was former owner of Interstate Steel in Gum Springs, Ark. Paul was a WWII veteran serving in the US Air Force and a member of First Baptist Church of Arkadelphia. He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Saunders Roberson; four brothers and one sister. Survivors include two daughters, Karen Phillips and husband Alan of Arkadelphia and Sarah Derryberry of Lufkin, Texas; one grandson, Michael Paul Phillips and his wife Allie. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 15 at First Baptist Church of Arkadelphia with Dr. Lee McGlone officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
