Worelene Parrish

Worelene Parrish, May 25, 1934 – September 11, 2016. Worelene (Finley) Parrish, 82, of Jonesboro, Ark. passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016, at St. Elizabeth's Nursing Center. Worelene was many things in her life, wife, mother, sister, daughter, florist, shopkeeper, grocer, bookkeeper, factory worker, and reluctant cotton chopper and picker. She was a proud graduate of Corning High School Class of 1952. Mrs. Parrish was a member of Truelight Baptist Church in McDougal, Ark. Her cheerful smile will be remembered. On April 6, 1951, she wed her beloved husband of 43 years, Harold B. Parrish, who preceded her in death in 1993. This loving union was blessed with three children who survive her; Dr. Terry B. (Sandy) Parrish of Bryant, Ark., Susan Y. (Reginald) Read of Browntown, Mich., and Misty D. (Tony) Micenhamer of Brookland, Ark. She is survived by a brother, Rick Finley of McDougal, Ark. Three grandchildren: Clay (Amanda) Parrish of Bryant, Ark., Kara Krimmel of Flat Rock, Mich., and Shelly Loftin of Benton, Ark. Five great-grandchildren: Caleb Krimmel, Eli Krimmel, Spencer Parrish, Sadie Parrish, Westin Loftin, and Grayson Loftin. Numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, friends. Special Nursing Care Givers Sherri Jarrett and Johnny Gamble. Special friends at Wesley on the Ridge Retirement Community where she had been a resident since December, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vance and Edna (Adams) Finley, two brothers, Jarin Finley, and Gerald W. Finley (infant). Grandparents Dawson and Della (Dean) Finley Jackson and Harry and Mattie (Koister) Adams. Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Hoggard's Funeral Home in Piggott, Ark. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Bro. Jerry Jolly officiating. Burial will follow at Post Oak Cemetery at McDougal. To celebrate her life the family requests donations to the Kidney Foundation, Post Oak Cemetery, Spring Creek Baptist Church Sound Fund in Benton, Arkansas, or a charity of your choice.
