Cindy Lea McCurry was unexpectedly taken from her family on the 8th of September, 2016 in a car accident. She was the beloved wife of Bob McCurry and the dear mother of Todd (Terry Singh) and Dustin Phillips and her daughter, Tara Iuso (Billy Iuso). She was also the devoted Nana of Brayden Turner, Aria and Little Billy Iuso. She was born in Hico, Texas on August 6, 1952. Her parents, J.T. & Nadine Hitt moved her and her brother, Travis to Bentonville, Ark. They were happy there and operated several local movie theaters (or Picture Shows- depending on how old you are-is what you called them.) One of Cindy's dreams was to live in New Orleans. She realized this dream and was a Sister member of the annual Mardi Gras Parade, Krewe of NYX. She enjoyed laughing, spending time with her grandchildren, crafting, decorating, cooking, nature and enjoying life to its fullest. Her wishes were to celebrate her life with a traditional Second Line, Jazz Funeral Parade with a brass band. Her family invites you to honor Cindy with them at 1 p.m. on September 24th, 2016 at 838 Esplanade Avenue in New Orleans, La. Please meet on the neutral ground in front of Port of Call. The Jazz Funeral will begin at 2 p.m. and will proceed through the French Quarter and end at Jackson Square. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Scleroderma Foundation, at http://www.scleroderma.org.
