Reverend Herbert Howard Holley, 89, of Pine Bluff, died Friday, September 16, 2016. He was born March 4, 1927 in Daviston, Ala., son of Jesse and Ila Belle Smith Holley. Reverend Holley was reared and received his early education in Ala. He earned his Masters Degree in Religion from New Orleans Seminary. He served in the United States Navy near the end of World War II. Reverend Holley was a Southern Baptist minister for many years, most recently serving as a Arkansas Department of Corrections chaplain. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bryan Holley; three brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Bitely Staton Holley, whom he married July 30, 1983 in Pine Bluff; daughter, Sharon Holley Hanson of Arnold, Md.; two sons, Bruce Darell Holley of Newnan, Ga. and Terry Holley of Verbena, Alab.; two step-daughters, Marsha Kealer of Hot Springs and Beth Boshears of Little Rock; step-son, Greg Staton of Grady; and eight grandchildren. A memorial service will be 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2016 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend John McCallum officiating.
