Neva Ellen Hope Cook saw Jesus' face to face on Sept. 13, 2016 at the age of 96, after living a life of service for her Lord and Savior. She was born on Nov. 26, 1919, in Maysville, Okla., to Grover and Melvina Hope. Neva grew up in Frederick, Okla., the eighth of 11 siblings. Her youngest brother Grover Hope Jr. is the only surviving sibling. He and his wife Maidee live in Dallas, Texas. Neva was preceded in death by her loving husband S. Lee Cook. Together they lovingly raised four children in Cleveland, Okla.: Phillip L. Cook (Kathy), of Collinsville, Okla., Jana S. Ferguson (David), of Fayetteville, Ark., Ellen L. Ellis (Richard), of Memphis, Tenn., Warren D. Cook of Branson, Mo. She is survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored her. Neva graduated from Frederick High school, Frederick, Okla., in 1937 and later completed a degree in Home Economics at Oklahoma State University. She later obtained her elementary education certificate at Tulsa University and was a wonderful elementary teacher in Cleveland Schools. Neva was very active in ministries at First Baptist Church, Cleveland, Okla., for over 50 years. After moving to Butterfield Trail Village in Fayetteville, Ark., to be near family in 2006, she became a member of University Baptist Church. At BTV she helped organize a weekly "hymn sing" which many enjoyed greatly. She will most assuredly be missed by countless friends and family for her gift of hospitality, her love of God and others, her generosity and her beautiful smile. Memorials honoring her may be made to Second Mile Ministry, University Baptist Church, or Gideons International.
