Ronald Wayne Emmert, 57, of Little Rock, died Saturday, September 17, 2016. He was born September 6, 1959 in Abilene, Texas. Ron and his family moved to Cabot in 1971, where he became a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church, and lived until he moved to Little Rock following his marriage to Lou Ann Brock in 1994. Ron was a loving husband, son, brother and uncle. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and was crazy about his nieces and nephews. He was a Batman enthusiast and a collector of Batman memorabilia as well as an avid sports fan. Ron enjoyed playing golf and watching the Cowboys, Orioles, Lakers, and the Razorbacks. Despite adversity, Ron always kept a positive outlook on life. Ron was preceded in death by his father, Dale Winkles. Mr. Emmert is survived by his wife of 21 years, Lou Ann Emmert of Little Rock; his mother, Thelma Winkles of Cabot; brother, Russ Emmert (Andrea) of Fort Worth, Texas; nieces, Amanda Emmert Monroe (Brandon) of Fort Worth, Texas, and Stephanie Emmert Barksdale (Bradley) of Arlington, Texas; great-nephews, Brady and Ellis Monroe; and great-niece, Berkley Barksdale; as well as a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2016 in the chapel of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, with Brother John Riggs officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
