Mary Helen Red

Mary Helen Red, 71, of La Feria, Texas passed away Thursday, September 22, 2016. She was born August 22, 1945 in Kingsland, Arkansas to the late Willie R. and Johnnie Whitaker Thomas. She was the owner of Thomas Florist in southwest Little Rock for thirty five years. Mary Helen was a member of Christian Spirit of Praise Church in Texas. She enjoyed traveling the United States with her husband and her dog, Layla. She is survived by her husband of fifty four years; Arthur "Jitter" Red, daughter; Kandie Michelle Red Thomas (Scotty), sons; Darren Eugene Red (Michelle) and Scott Arthur Red, five grand-children, three great-grand-children and one on the way, brothers; T.J. Thomas (Peggy), Gene Thomas (Doris) and other extended family. Mary Helen was preceded in death by her great-grandson; Ryker McInturff, and her brothers; Conrad Thomas and Don Thomas. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Cancer Society, 901 West University Ave., Little Rock, Arkansas 72207. A private memorial service will be held.
