Frances Arlene Elmendorf

Frances Arlene Elmendorf, born July 28, 1917, in Bay City, Mich., passed away March 24, 2017 in Bentonville, Arkansas, four months shy of her 100th birthday. Arlene's husband of 67 years, Charles G. Elmendorf preceded her in death. Arlene loved to travel and after retiring she and Charlie spent many summers traveling in their RV. There were many adventures in which they were joined by their children and grandchildren. There are many wonderful memories of those vacations held by all. Throughout her life Arlene enjoyed many hobbies and crafts, but her passion was sewing. She was an accomplished seamstress. Arlene began sewing her own clothes when she was in high school. She taught her daughter, Valle, to sew and together they enjoyed their hobby together for many years. Both Arlene and Valle were active in the Sew A Stitch club in Rogers, Ark. Arlene is survived by her two children, Valle Caldwell of Rogers, and Richard Elmendorf of Longmont, Colo.; four grandchildren, Jessica Gregg of Houston, Texas, Gwendolyn Caldwell of Oklahoma City, Okla., Michael Elmendorf and Chad Elmendorf, both of Longmont, Colo. Arlene also has four great-grandchildren; Carly and Josey Gregg and Evan and Kaitlyn Elmendorf. A family celebration of her life will be held over the 4th of July in Rogers when all the family is together. Arrangements are with Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home.
