James "Jack" Vaughn

James Arlie "Jack" Vaughn Jr., 83, of Piggott, Ark., passed away April 1, 2017, at the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark. He was born on Aug. 11, 1933, in Bono, Ark., and was the son of the late James Arlie and Sally Bea (Groves) Vaughn. Jack was united in marriage to Charlotte Bradberry on March 27, 1953, and to this union a son was born. Jack was a longtime member of the General Baptist Church. He was a 45-year member of the Piggott Masonic Lodge #545 and was a dual member of the Eastern Star Lodge #207. He was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Olive Chapter Lodge #147, the Scottish Rite, and the Shriners. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Michael Shane Vaughn; brother, Earl David Vaughn, and sister, Marie Presley. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Charlotte Vaughn of Piggott, Ark.; son, Gerald Dewayne Vaughn and wife Tammy Stegmann of Pleasant Plains, Ark.; sister, Alice Lee Lampp of Jonesboro, Ark.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. A Masonic funeral service will be held on Monday, April 3, 2017, at 7 p.m. in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with visitation immediately following until 8:30 p.m. A private burial will be held at a later date. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Ark., will be in charge of the arrangement.
