Levi Calvin Atwood

Levi Calvin Atwood Jr., 94, passed away on March 31, 2017 in Rogers. He was born on Aug. 26, 1922 in Alexandria, La. to the late Levi C. Atwood Sr. and Nettie (Price) Atwood. He worked at New Park, Shipyard in Houston, Texas for many years before moving to Rogers. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He served with the United States Army in two wars. Levi was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Edwina Atwood; brothers, Ray, Jack, and Freddy; and son-in-law, Madison Whitlock. He is survived by his six daughters, Melba Atwood, Gail James (Lynn), and Bobbie Casto (Vincent) all of Texas, Diane Whitlock of Missouri, Patricia Doss (Danny) of Rogers, and Peggy Magnusson (Gary) of Missouri; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. A visitation will be on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. in Rollins Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 10 a.m. with military honors to take place at the chapel.
