David Arthur Drachenberg

David Arthur Drachenberg, 78, of Bella Vista, Ark., died April 1, 2017, at Circle of Life Hospice, Legacy Village in Bentonville, Ark., following an extended illness. He was born January 30, 1939 in Webb City, Mo., to Nathaniel (Tony) Drachenberg and Ruth Nadine (Rowland) Drachenberg. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Jerry and Wayne. After college, David's career was in the aircraft industry. He worked in engineering at Boeing Wichita, then at Beechcraft/Raytheon for 34 years, retiring as senior cost design engineer in 2002. His passion in life was his family, friends and music. He sang with the Boeing Stratosingers, was choir director at his church for 40 years, chairman of Wichita Christian Business and Professional Couples Club and numerous other activities, but most of all, he was a faithful Servant of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Bentonville. David is survived by his wife Janis (Spillers) Drachenberg, who he married in 1960 in Southwest City, Mo. He is also survived by his sons, Brett and Matthew; grandsons Hans, Kai, Bryce and Finnegan; his aunt Jean Ahrnsbrak (Leonard); uncle Wayne Rowland (Elisabeth); sisters-in-law, Darlene Vinyard and Gay Spillers; brother-in-law, Darrell Spillers (Jean), and nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was also blessed with some of the dearest friends a man could have! Visitation and funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd, Bella Vista, Ark. Visitation will be from 12 noon until service at 1 pm. Pastor Benny Thompson will officiate. Interment at Southwest City Cemetery, Pastor Richard Hart officiating.
