Golda Belle Watson Adams

Golda Belle Watson Adams, 98 of Springdale passed away March 2, 2017 in Jasper, Ark. She was born March 8, 1918 in Swain, Arkansas to T. C. and Trissie Collins Watson. Golda was a beautician who practiced well into her later years. During World War II, she built airplanes to defeat fascism and defend America. She was a remarkable canner, baker, gardener, crocheter, and fisherwoman--and a crack shot with a rifle. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melton Eugene Adams; and her seven brothers and sisters: Nancy, Martha, Searl, Paul, Mary, Roosevelt, and Grant. Survivors include one son, John Adams of Little Rock, Ark.; one sister in law, Dolores Vereb of Springdale; one daughter-in-law and one grandchild, Joy Freeman and Quincy Adams, both of Royal, Ark.; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and other family friends. Memorial graveside services will be Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 1p.m. at Friendship Cemetery in Springdale with Rev. Loren Collins officiating.
