John Ernest Fox Jr., (65), of Tulsa, Okla. passed away peacefully on April 9, 2017 at the Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born on June 29, 1951 in Pensacola, FL to John Ernest Fox Sr. and Penelope Mellott Fox. He is preceded in death by his loving parents. John is survived by his son, Jesse Adam Fox and daughter-in-law, Samantha Garcia Fox of Fayetteville, Ark., two grandchildren, Adeline Corinne Fox and Maya Cassidy Gibson also of Fayetteville, Ark.; two sisters, Jeanie Fox of Fayetteville, Ark. and Tory Fox Gaddy (Jeff) of Springdale, Ark.; two nephews, Tim Rogers of Clark, Colo. and Ben Rogers of Washington D.C, one niece, Caitlin Rogers Akins (Rylie) of Dallas, Texas and a large extended family. His early years were all about being a Navy brat and living in various places around the world until his father's retirement in 1966 and consequent move to Fayetteville, Ark. which became home base. He graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1970, spent one year at Arkansas Tech University and went on to receive two degrees from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville: a BA in Psychology in 1975 and a Masters in Counselor Education in 1977. He became a Certified Public Accountant and worked for; Miller Brewing Co in both Fort Worth, Texas and Milwaukee, WI; Alltel in Little Rock, AR; MetLife in Fayetteville, AR; and most recently at Cross & Robinson now Regier Carr & Monroe L.L.P. in Tulsa, Okla. John was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Tulsa. His faith was strong and from his church he developed a very special group of friends. The fact that they were mostly women might surprise some. He had no idea how very handsome he was! He enjoyed serving on the board of his condominium complex and loved golf but remarked that to say he "played golf" was an insult to the game; he couldn't wait for the Masters this year. He also loved baseball and most especially his Arkansas Razorbacks which he watched from his end zone seats as many times a year as he could with his son. But most of all he cherished his family, being Grandpa John and doting on his grandkids! Visitation will be under the direction of Moore's Chapel, 206 West Center Street in Fayetteville, Ark. on Thursday, April 13th from 5-7 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held at Central United Methodist Church, 6 West Dickson Street in Fayetteville, Ark. on Friday April 14th at 10.30 a.m. A private burial will be a Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation at lungcancerresearchfoundation.org or a charity of your choice.
