Joel Douglas Johnson

Joel Douglas Johnson, 47, of Heber Springs, was born in Greenville, Mississippi, on August 25, 1969 and passed away in Heber Springs, Arkansas on April 14, 2017. Joel was a well-rounded person who enjoyed interacting with others. After high school he attended UCA and earned a BSE degree in Industrial Technology. While at UCA Joel also participated in various campus activities including being drum major of the UCA marching band, playing saxophone, and lettering in golf. After he graduated, he worked several years for an educational coop biding, marketing, and delivering school supplies to Arkansas schools. Joel enjoyed cooking at home, and also spent several years managing the Rib Crib Restaurant in Searcy before his battle with heart disease limited his activities. Survivors include his daughter, Anna Rebecca Johnson: his brother Jem Johnson: and his parents, James and Guylene Johnson. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Family Funeral Service from 1 until 2 p.m. and a Celebration of His Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. in Family Funeral Service Chapel.
