Wallace C. Cummings, 87, of North Little Rock passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 18, 2017. He was born November 10, 1929 to the late Lloyd Cummings and Esther Crouse. Wallace is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Jo Cummings; two sons, Wallace Cummings Jr. (Denise) and Chris Cummings (Leslie); grandchildren, Jason Cummings (Brooke), Brooke Cummings, Michael Cummings (Kayce) and Casey Cummings; six great-grandchildren, Ava, Bella, Cannon, Meric, Porter, and Mac; and a host of nieces and nephews. Wallace graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1951, and in 1990, after 39 years of service, he retired from Cooperative Extension Service. Throughout his life, Wallace carried with him a passion for the great outdoors, and for many years, he relished his time as a member of the Mozart Hunting Club. While he did find pleasure in cheering on the Razorbacks from time to time, his greatest love was his family. He will be remembered, and forever cherished, as a loving husband, a wise investor, a doting pawpaw, and a man who could appreciate a good laugh. But perhaps most importantly, he will always be remembered by all who knew him as an example of what it means to unfailingly be kind to others. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Ashley and Gabby from Hospice of Central Arkansas for exhibiting compassion while providing care and support for Wallace during his final days. Services and visitation will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills located at 7724 Landers Rd., North Little Rock. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. with funeral service to follow immediately after. Memorial donations may be made to Park Hill Baptist Church, 201 E C Ave., NLR, Ark. 72116 or Hospice of Central Arkansas, 1801 Central Ave, Hot Springs, Ark. 71901. Online guestbook is available at www.griffinleggettresthills.com.
