Senior Master Sergeant (Ret) Clifton Edward (Ed) Moran Jr., went to be with his Lord, April 25, 2017. Ed was born October 20, 1927, in Bartlett, Tenn. to Clifton and Ruth Claghorn Moran. Ed was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Juanita Sivewright Moran; sisters, Sandra King, Nancy Suddeth and Alice Kerr. He was a veteran of three wars serving in the Navy at Kwajalein during WWII and later as an Airman in Korea and in Vietnam. He retired after 27 years in the Air Force. Ed was a faithful member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church since 1986 where he served as deacon, Sunday school teacher, greeter, usher and served on several committees including the Handyman Committee. Survivors include his wife, Helen; sons; David (Sandy) of Gainesville, Ga., Roy (Candy) of Liberty, Mo., step-son, Chip Excell Jr. of Tulsa, Okla.; brother, Homer of Alexander, Ark.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses that took such good care of Ed; Drs. Heifner, Baltz, Mooney, Griffin, Wallace and Cooper, as well as, Arkansas Hospice and VA Palliative Care Unit. There will be a Celebration Service at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church, 12400 I-30, Little Rock, Arkansas 72210. A visitation will begin at 12 noon prior to the service.
