Beverly Mourney

Beverly Mourney, 83, of Mountainburg, passed away Monday, August 21, 2017 at her home surrounded by her children. She was born July 5, 1934 in Endicott, New York, to the late George F. and Marie Hayes Blewer. She grew up on the family dairy farm in Weltonville, New York before moving with her family to Mesa, Arizona and graduating from Mesa High School in 1952. Beverly was devoted to her family and travelled extensively with her husband. She was an avid Master gardener, and a member of First Baptist of Mountainburg. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Billy D. Mourney. She is survived by her children, Marcie Payne and husband Virgil, Billy Mourney, Mark Mourney and wife Jeanette, all of Mountainburg, Georganne Mourney and partner Eric Robinson of Fayetteville, Ginger Martin and husband Brook of Springdale; a sister, Barbara Downs of Ruidoso, New Mexico; grandchildren, Jonathan Mourney, Miranda Mourney-Siebenmorgen (Jason), Carrie Watkins, Christi Payne-Plourde (Tim), Kayla Mourney-Edwards (Josh), Jared Mourney, David (Stacey), Bryan, and Steven Dicks and Tristen Martin, and 14 great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, August 24, 2017 at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, Ark. Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel. Pallbearers will be grandsons. The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, Ark.
