Mrs. Dorothy Virginia Harvey Stainton, known to many as "Dot Dot" age 89, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Monday, August 21, 2017, at her home. She was born August 31, 1927, in Jonesboro, Arkansas to L.C. and Alma Falls Harvey. In 1947 she married Bill Stainton of Prescott, Arkansas. She was a retired Junior High School Science teacher, in her former years she was a member of Sevier County Genealogy Society, a Girl Scout Leader and a member of Chapter B, P.E.O. She was also a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school. Mrs. Stainton was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William G. "Bill" Stainton; her son, William G. Stainton, Jr. and one brother, Bud Harvey. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Trey Wilkerson of De Queen, and Ginger and Jimmy Moore of New Boston, Texas; two sisters, Anne Mauldin of Ames, Iowa and Sue Defender of Bainbridge Island, Washington; six grandchildren, Julie Stainton Post, Katy Wilkerson Brewer, Sarah Wilkerson Casteel, Chip Wilkerson, Jim Moore and Mary Moore Wheeler; 11 great-grandchildren; one aunt, Hattie Collins of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Stainton will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, August 25, 2017, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Cloninger officiating. Burial will follow at De Ann Cemetery in Prescott, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Chip Wilkerson, Jim Moore, Mike Post, Larry Brewer, Doug Casteel and Brandon Wheeler.
