Thomas (Tom) J. Barber, 59, of Cabot passed from this life on Tuesday, August 29, 2017. He was born Wednesday, May 7, 1958 in Anchorage, Alaska to Ed Barber and Virginia E. Dilbeck Barber. He was a graduate of Jacksonville High School and went on to obtain a degree in Engineering from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Tom worked at Boyd and Kelly A/C in Jacksonville while in college. He began his engineering career in Fort Smith, and continued with Centro, Interstate Highway Sign Company before moving on to his dream job at 3M. Tom loved photography, working in his shop, fishing, being outdoors, and his work. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Kathy J. Barber of Cabot and step-mother, Lorraine Barber of Beebe. Other survivors include friends David & Katherine Massanelli, James & Carla Dennis, Bill Tollesan, Andy Roufs, Mike Murray, Rudy Rudina, Kent Nelson, Bob Brown and Mike Stieger along with numerous other friends who were more like family. A time of visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Arrangements entrusted to Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.
