Joseph Eugene Dressendorfer, of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away on Nov. 26, 2017, at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, at the age of 99. He was born Jan. 6, 1918, in Fort Smith, Ark., to William Joseph and Mary Ann (Cornfeld) Dressendorfer. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 55 years Genoah Dressendorfer; and eight siblings. Joseph was a welder during WWII at the ship yards in Portland, Ore., working on minesweepers. He retired after 36 years as a dental technician and certified dental assistant. He kept busy during retirement remodeling homes. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church since 1945. Joseph is survived by his son Joseph E. Dressendorfer Jr., and wife Patricia of Ariz.; daughter Linda Sue Vanderpool of Fayetteville; grandchildren Casey Dressendorfer and wife Tina of Ariz., Brady Dressendorfer and wife Treva of Ariz., Abby Mendonca and husband Michael of Ariz.; great-grandchildren Jessie, Scotty, Cassandra, McKenna, Rylan, Derby, Analeigh, Genoah, and Berea; six step-great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fayetteville at noon, with a rosary at 12:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 1 p.m. with burial to follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
