Edward G. Simmering

Edward Gayle Simmering, 67, of White Hall, passed away Monday, Nov. 27, 2017. Born Sept. 26, 1950 at Memphis, Tenn., he was a son of the late William Simmering and Louise Holmes Simmering. He graduated from Marianna High School and attended Arkansas State Teachers College at Conway (UCA). A great provider, Mr. Simmering was a man of many talents. His work, at one time or another, as a truck driver, deckhand, jeweler, home renovator, and accountant, helped him excel in his 20-year career as an Insurance Adjuster. He loved working at General Adjusters Bureau (GAB) and American International Group (AIG) and treasured his close relationships through the years with his associates. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether hunting and fishing or coaching his grandson's Little League Baseball teams, as family and friends were his passion. The most important being the things that made the people he loved happy like finding mischief with his brother, dancing with his wife, making his family pancakes, playing catch with them in the yard or building them a car from scratch. He adored his grandchildren, and cherished their diverse personalities. He also valued his own interest including boating, playing poker, and singing tenor in church choir. Everyone who knew him knows one of his favorite past times was inciting lively debates. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Brenda Frazier Simmering, to whom he married, Dec. 24, 1980; daughters, Nicole Moore (Kevin), Pam Hackler, Ginger Dismuke (Richard), Tracy Johnson (Spencer), and Shana Alexander; a brother, Bob Simmering (Dianna); grandchildren, Tadd, Blayne, Christina, Carissa, Chase, Haley, Dylan, Ashley, Katelynn, Cassidy, Hayden; great-grandchildren, Emily, Tucker, and Tayden and many other loving family and friends.
