Elsie Wrenn Allen

Elsie Wrenn Allen of Strawberry, passed away Sunday, 10 December 2017, at the White River Medical Center (WRMC) in Batesville, Arkansas. She was born on 30 May 1935 in Paris (Lafayette County) Mississippi to Albert Joseph and Dalia Davis Wrenn. During her work career she worked for Sears Roebuck, Shelby County Tennessee, and retired from the Advertising Checking Bureau (ACB) with 27 years of service. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Tennessee for over 60 years and in Arkansas for 24 years. She loved to read, liked to sew and crochet, and travel. She made many afghans for family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, the love of her life, Charles S. McPherson; and second husband, Clifford B. Allen. Elsie was also preceded in death by sisters, Betty Jo Wrenn, Frances Wrenn Stroupe, Mary Baddley, and Louise Wrenn Davis; brothers, Albert Joseph Wrenn JR., Roy Wrenn, Authur Lewis Wrenn, and Frank Colman Wrenn. She is survived by her sisters, Esther Wrenn Nelson of Water Valley, Mississippi, Gladys Wrenn Blaker (Alton) of Grenada, Mississippi; and brother, Stanley N. Wrenn (Deanna) of Strawberry, Arkansas; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She will be honored with a graveside service at The Pilgrims Rest Primitive Baptist Cemetery in Lafayette County Mississippi east of Water Valley at a later date. www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/batesville.
