James Terrall Clark, 71, of North Little Rock passed away on Monday, December 11, 2017. He was born on August 16, 1946 in McGehee, Arkansas to the late Eugene Terrall Clark and Francis Ellen Gaston Clark. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Linda Lou Clark; stepson, Frank Tiger Carter; and brother, John Howard Clark. James was a graduate of the University of Arkansas in Monticello where he played football and was on the swim team. He started his law enforcement career with North Little Rock Police and then became an Arkansas State Trooper where he retired after many years of service. During his time with the State Police, he worked as the Governor's security under Bill Clinton, Frank White, and Mike Huckabee. He was appointed as the Executive Director of the Arkansas State Crime Lab in 1985 and also became the Director of the Criminal Justice Institute for the University of Arkansas. He was part of the Drug Task Force and worked on the committee that made the CDL test for the state. He loved to referee high school football and take his black lab on rides in his old GMC. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Moore of Sherwood; stepson, David Mark Pierce (Sherry) of Conway; brother, Kelly Clark (Pam) of El Dorado; and four grandchildren, Joshua Moore, Lindsey Moore, Morgan Pierce, and Dustin Partridge. Special thank you to his caregivers, Joanne Thorpe, Mike Baker, and Ira Moore. Visitation will be 12 noon Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.
