Pierina Catherine Winsett

Pierina ‘Penny' Catherine Winsett passed away December 14, 2017. She was born on August 19, 1922 in Lake Village, Arkansas to Nazareno and Guissepa Alpe Catalani. She spent her career as a dedicated nurse serving as Director of Nursing at the Lake Village Infirmary from 1947 to 1967. After the completion of Chicot Memorial Hospital in 1967, she served as Director of Nursing there for the remainder of her career until her retirement in 2002. She was once selected as Arkansas Nurse of the Year. Penny was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Village, Arkansas and served as Sacristan and was a member of the Altar Society. She was married to her husband, Robert E. Winsett for 57 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and three sisters. She is survived by her husband, Robert, her sisters, Louise Mazzanti and Agnes Forte and her many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5 p.m.-6 p.m. and the Rosary at 6 p.m., Friday, December 15, 2017 at Bishop-King Funeral Home in Lake Village, Arkansas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 16 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Village, Arkansas with Father Theopillus Okpara officiating. Burial will follow in St. Isadore Cemetery in Lake Village under the direction of Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village.
