Jerome Martin Lipsmeyer, age 90, of Bigelow, passed away, Saturday, December 16, 2017. He was born October 23, 1927 in New Dixie Community, Arkansas, a son of the late Henry Lipsmeyer and the late Estella Martin Lipsmeyer. He was a Rancher, Farmer, member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Oaks Lipsmeyer of Bigelow; sons, Keith Lipsmeyer of Morrilton; Dale (Aleshia) Lipsmeyer of Morrilton; Chris Lipsmeyer of Conway; daughters, Jan Dixon of Morrilton; Brenda (Garry) Moore of Conway; and Geri Lipsmeyer of Bigelow; sister, Pat Gardner of Long Beach, California; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and special family member, George Strobel. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Terry Lipsmeyer, and Winfred Lipsmeyer; four brothers, and three sisters. Our Daddy came from humble beginnings, but he made for himself a remarkable life. He was industrious and unstoppable when he set his mind to doing anything. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Daddy was civic minded and a champion for all. He was kind, loved a good joke, and always had something witty to say. He loved our Mom more than anything. She was his girl, his favorite dance partner, and they celebrated 65 years of marriage. He saw to it that all seven of his children had a college degree. He took great pride in his family and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren so much. He had the innate ability to make everyone he loved feel like they were the most important person in the world. Daddy loved to hunt and he shared that passion with anyone that was interested in deer or raccoon hunting. Many a man spent fun times in the woods with him and his prized hunting dogs. Later in life he took up welding so that he could build beautiful things for the people he loved. If you could show him a picture and give him dimensions, he could build anything with metal…rocking chairs, benches, baby beds, Christmas trees…you name it. Daddy left us a beautiful legacy…. He taught us generosity and loyalty. He taught us to always be grateful and never take anyone or anything for granted. He will be missed by so many, but he will live on in all who knew him. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 20th at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Father Richard Davis and Father James West officiating. Burial will be at St. Boniface Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Rosary will be 6 p.m. Tuesday, December 19th, at Harris Funeral Home with visitation following.
