Dr. Robert E. Fahr of Conway, formerly of Paragould, passed away December 16, 2017 at the age of 100 years and 15 days. He remained a steadfast and loyal husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to the end of his life. He was born in Greene County on December 1, 1917 to the late John M. and Ettie Fahr. He was also preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters. He graduated from Marmaduke High School and was a graduate of University of Arkansas and Texas A&M University. He was inducted into the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps and served in the military until 1946. He returned to Paragould and built the Paragould Animal Clinic where he practiced until his retirement in 1983. Among the boards Dr. Fahr served on were the Paragould Schools, Arkansas Department of Health, and First National Bank. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Paragould. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn; children, Gwen (Ron) Mills of New Braunfels, Texas, Celia (Mike) Harkey of Little Rock, Bob (Laura) Fahr of Conway, and Michael (Beth) Fahr of Conway; grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Andrew, Alex, Emily, and Jacob; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12-2 p.m. with the funeral to follow at First Baptist Church with Dr. Anthony Cherry officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens.
