Willene Phillips Anderson

Willene Phillips Anderson of Sheridan, Arkansas was born August 13, 1937 in the Ain Community of Grant County, Arkansas, the daughter of the late E.W. "Babe" Phillips and Madge "Cricket" Hester Phillips. She was an active member of First Southern Baptist Church in Sheridan and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was best known in the community as co-owner of Crickets Bakery, for many years. There's no telling how many cakes she used her artistry to decorate, for all occasions. The greatest joy of her life was taking care of her family. She had a huge smile, and loved spending time with them. Whether it was sewing, cooking, babysitting, or just visiting with them, she cherished every moment and every memory. Ms. Anderson died Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Hospice Homecare in Little Rock at the age of 80. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Edward Anderson, Sr., brothers, Sonny Phillips, Bill Atchley; sisters, Maxine Baker, Wilma Smith, Theresa Phillips, son-in-law, Jason York. Survivors: sons, Luther "Eddie" Edward Anderson, Jr. and wife Karla of Sheridan, Bryant Clay Anderson and wife Janet of Conway, Adopted son, Paul Mayfield of Sheridan; daughters, Gina and husband Mike Qualls of Maumelle, Melinda Kayleen Neubauer of Hensley, Kristi Anderson of Sheridan; brothers, Fred and wife Betty Phillips of Grapevine, Aubrey and wife Lela Phillips of Bauxite, Charles and wife Diane Phillips of Sheridan; sisters, Audrey and husband Roy Harrington of Sheridan, Mary Jane Jackson of Hot Springs; sisters-in-law, Wanda and husband Bob Cardin of Sheridan, Jean Poye of Hot Springs; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ferrel West officiating. Burial will follow at Phillips Cemetery in Grapevine. Visitation will be Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
