Reverand John Brent Steen, 70, of Paron, lost his battle to cancer and went home to be with the Lord February 3, 2017. He was a husband, a Veteran that served as a door gunner in Vietnam with the Casper Aviation Platoon, a 32nd Degree Mason, former owner of Brown Janitor Supply Company, father, poppa, as well as a friend and confidant to many. He was an avid storyteller and prankster. Truth be known, you could not believe a word he said unless he was behind the pulpit, only then could he be taken seriously. He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Edward Steen. Survived by his mother, Joyce Steen, wife, Paula Steen, sisters, Mary Ann Steen-Van Houten and Linda McCombs; children, Tanya Steen-Garrett, Jonathan Steen, Jackie Steen, Paula Allen, and Thomas Blake Satterfield whom John loved as his own. His goal in life was to die young as late as possible and that is exactly what this Purple Heart recipient did. He led a full adventurous life, was adored by anyone who had ever met him and will be missed tremendously. "I and my Father are one." John 10:22. Services entrusted to Gunn Funeral Home, 4323 W 29th St., LR, Ark. 72204, 501-660-4323.
