John Sturm, Sr.

Long time Benton resident, John B. Sturm Sr., 89, went to be with the Lord, Sunday February 5, 2017. He was born in Bristow, Oklahoma on August 25, 1927 to Jess Reed Sturm and Edna Potts Sturm. John was married to Katherine Weigl Sturm for 66 years. He served his country in the Army during W.W. II and was retired from Otasco & the Benton Public Schools. John was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one great-granddaughter; three brothers, Lee, Jess & Dan Sturm and a sister, Martha Sturm Denny. He is survived by four sons, John B. Sturm Jr., Karl Sturm, Zane (Sherri) Sturm Sr. and James (Kellie) Sturm; three daughters, Rachel Sturm, Kathy (John) McKinney and Tanja (Steve) Crawford; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Sturm, Dan Sturm Jr., Jesse Sturm Jr., Steve Crawford, Doug Gibson, Jason Sturm, Zane Sturm II, Connor Goodson and Cameron Goodson. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 10 at Ashby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, February 11 at Ashby Funeral Home.
