James D. Williams, 91, of the Sardis Community went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2017. He was born August 21, 1925 in Prattsville, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Charlotte Williams, his parents, four sisters, and four brothers. Mr. Williams was a WWII U.S. Naval Reserves armed guard veteran. He was a 32nd degree Mason and belonged to the Scottish Rite in Little Rock & Peoria, Ill. serving as Sovereign Prince Peoria Council of Prince of Jerusalem, a Past Master of Alumina Lodge #574 F&AM Bryant and Temple Lodge 46 AF&AM Peoria, Ill. acquiring a 50 year member in all bodies. He was a retiree from Caterpillar Inc. Data Processing Dept. as a systems analyst having worked there 32 years. He also was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Bryant and served his church as a Sunday School Supt. and was on the mission committee. He is survived by his son, Larry J. Williams and wife Ina of Dunlap, Ill.; stepdaughter, Dina L. Diefenbach and husband Douglas of Morton, Ill.; three granddaughters, Heather, Holly, and Katy; two grandsons, Chad and Jacob, an extended family, a host of nieces and nephews, friends, Brother Masons, and Christian brothers and sisters. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2017 in the chapel of Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047) with Phillip Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening, February 12th at the funeral home.
