Wanda Lou Chism Bush, 73, of Redfield, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on February 11, 2017 at her home on Bush Farm in Grant County near the Ico Community. She was born at home in Mt. Pleasant, Texas on March 21, 1943. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Chism and Ruby McLaughlin (Aubrey). She is survived by her husband and best friend, Jack Bush, daughters, Sonja Johnston White (Mitch), Susan Bush Brown (Nick), and Mary Catherine Bush Harcourt, 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, brother, William Chism (Joyce), sister, Mary Stanley (Rodger), brother-in-law, Bill Bush (Retha), sister-in-law, Susie Bush Braucksieker (Lee) and several nieces, and nephews. She graduated from Magnolia High School and Southern Arkansas University. She was a school teacher for 20 years in Texas and 17 years in Arkansas, retiring from Sheridan High School. She was a lifelong horse woman, showing quarter horses in South Ark Horse Show Association, Mid State Horse Show Association and Arkansas State Quarter Horse Association. In later years, she showed and raised Welsh ponies. She also showed and raised several breeds of dogs. She was a charter member of Texarkana Kennel club. She loved her Lord Jesus and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sheridan. Many thanks to her two caregivers, Natasha Brantley and Ashley Phillips. It was with their care and love and Hospice Home Care nurse Mandi Mason, that Wanda was able to stay at home. Put your boots and jeans on and come celebrate the life of a horse woman and friend to many. Visitation will be Friday, February17, 2017 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral service will be Saturday, February 18, at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Sheridan with Rev. Daniel Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery on Grant 58 at Ico. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 357, Sheridan, Arkansas 72150.
